Lena Dunham: Famesick

Art &
Culture

Lena Dunham is an award-winning actor, writer, director and producer. Her HBO hit Girls earned her eight Emmy nominations and two Golden Globes and redefined girlhood for the millennial generation. Her 2014 memoir, Not That Kind of Girl was a number one New York Times best seller.

In April, Lena will return with her highly-anticipated new memoir, Famesick. A frank, deeply personal reflection on illness, fame, sex and everything in between, Dunham takes us behind the scenes of the tumultuous decade between the premiere of Girls and her 2021 ‘shotgun wedding’. Exploring her relationship with her work, her family and her battle to reclaim her body, Dunham shows us that the spotlight casts long shadows.

On Sunday April 19 join us live at Hackney Empire where Lena Dunham will be joined by Dolly Alderton for an intimate discussion on her life and career to date, the ongoing work of turning regrets into wisdom, and reconnecting to what, and who, we love.
