Speakers: Rachel Johnson
Rachel Johnson spoke about the day Ben Budworth asked her to become the editor of The Lady magazine and the thoughts that ran through her mind. She didn’t even know that the magazine was still running. She often collects all the letters that she receives as editor, including a note from George Osborne after she sent gifts to Downing Street. Working for the magazine, she’s learnt that Britain is a very conservative country that hates change. When she took on The Lady magazine, it’s readers hated change; it was a recession and she had to half the age of the readership whilst doubling the circulation.
