Speakers: Lemn Sissay
Poet and current artist-in-residence at the Southbank Centre, Lemn Sissay tells of his mistreatment at the hands of the British social services. A strong believer in the power of ‘the voice at the back of your mind,’ Lemn does not suppress the thoughts and memories that pop into his head as he tells of his upbringing. The result is a frantically sketched, powerful, and deeply honest portrait of a man who has spent the majority of his life trying to recover what was taken away from him at birth.
