Katherine Brown and Robert Diamond on the ethics of exit from Afghanistan

16 Mar 2010

Katherine Brown and Robert Diamond discuss the ethical dimension of a withdrawal of troops from Afghanistan.

Brown argues that the ethics of exit from Afghanistan entails a consideration of the necessary conditions for long-term, sustainable peace and the role of women in Afghanistan’s development.

Diamond argues that it is ironic to talk of an exit from Afghanistan when the US is militarily and fiscally more involved than ever. He discusses the conditions needed for ethical withdrawal in the long-term.
