Kampala Jellitone Suppliers, Uganda

2009

In and around Kampala, charcoal and wood is used in great quantities by large institutions each day. The results of which are damaging the countryside and human health. Kampala Jellitone Suppliers (KJS) has developed new, cheap and sustainable fuel 'briquettes' made of compacted sawdust and agricultural waste. This groundbreaking safe and clean energy resource now supplies local businesses and schools. KJS is developing a domestic stove to take the benefits of 'briquettes' into peoples homes and expand the reach of their technology.
