Speakers: Alain de Botton
Popular philosopher and essayist Alain de Botton shares his thoughts on work and the workplace - topics that have everyday relevance for most of us, but which we scarcely think about, and which are largely absent from the media.
He suggests that, for most humans, job satisfaction is derived from helping others, but that this is becoming increasingly difficult in a highly-industrialised world. He also tackles the novel problems of office romances, workaholics, and the Puritanical approach of the large corporations towards office rules.
