Journalist, broadcaster and film-maker
Michael Wood, journalist, broadcaster and film-maker, has been acclaimed for his hugely popular BBC television series and the accompanying books In the Footsteps of Alexander(1998). Wood began his broadcasting career at the BBC in the 1970s after studying history and English at Oreil College, Oxford. His first presenting job came in the early 1980s, on the series In Search of the Dark Ages. Since 2006, he has been involved with the British School of Archaeology in Iraq, helping to train future generations of Iraqi archaeologists.
Wood's books include India: An Epic Journey Across the Subcontinent (2007) and In Search of Myths and Heroes (2005).
