Katrina venden Heuvel has been the editor, part owner and publisher of US political journal The Nation since 1995. She is the editor of several books including Meltdown: How Greed and Corruption Shattered Our Financial System and How We Can Recover (2009) and co-editor of Taking Back America – And Taking Down the Radical Right (2004). She is a frequent commentator on American and international politics on ABC, MSNBC, CNN and PBS and her articles have appeared in the Washington Post, the Los Angeles Times, the New York Times, Foreign Policy magazine and the Boston Globe.
vanden Heuvel graduated summa cum laude from Princeton in 1981, majoring in politics and history. She was awarded Planned Parenthood's Maggie Award for a 1993 article on abortion, whilst the special issue she conceived and edited, Gorbachev’s Soviet Union, was awarded New York University's 1988 Olive Branch Award.
