British Conservative politician and former Member of Parliament for Chingford
Upon leaving education Lord Norman Tebbit worked as a journalist for the Financial Times before serving with the Royal Air Force. After working as a pilot for BOAC, he entered politics in 1970 as MP for Epping and then Chingford (from 1974). He has served as Secretary of State for Employment, Secretary of State for Trade and Industry and President of the Board of Trade, as Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster, and as party chairman. He was granted a life peerage in 1992 as Baron Tebbit of Chingford.
