Raja Shehadeh is a Palestinian author, and founder of the human rights organisation Al-Haq. he has written several books on law, human rights, and the Middle East, including Palestinian Walks: Forays into a Vanishing Landscape (2007), which won an Orwell Prize, When the Bulbul Stopped Singing (2003) and Strangers in the House (2009).
