Former Governor of New York
Eliot Spitzer attended Princeton and Harvard Law School before embarking on a legal career. After serving as a clerk, he became an assistant District Attorney in New York, where he became famous for leading high profile cases against organised crime during the 1990s. After a few years in a private practice, Spitzer returned to public service in 1998 when he was elected as Attorney General of New York. In 2006 he was elected Governor of New York, a post which he resigned in 2008. He currently teaches political science at the City College of New York in Harlem.
