Astronomer Royal
Martin Rees holds the post of Astronomer Royal. He is also Professor of Cosmology and Astrophysics and Master of Trinity College, Cambridge. In 2005 he was appointed to the House of Lords and elected President of the Royal Society. In addition to research papers on astrophysics and cosmology, he has written seven books including Our Final Hour: A Scientist's Warning: How Terror, Error, and Environmental Disaster Threaten Humankind's Future In This Century - On Earth and Beyond (2004), and Just Six Numbers: The Deep Forces that Shape the Universe (1995).
