Journalist and historian
David Pryce-Jones studied Modern History at Magdalen College Oxford. From 1959-61 he was the Literary Editor of the Financial Times and from 1961-63 the Literary Editor of the Spectator. He was a Visiting Writer in Residence, teaching creative writing at the University of Iowa (1964-65) and Visiting Lecturer at California State College at Hayward in 1966 and 1968. He has also been a Visiting Professor at the University of California at Berkeley (1970).
As a special correspondent for the Daily Telegraph (1966-1982) Pryce-Jones' assignments included the Six Day War of 1967 and the Yom Kippur War of 1973. He occasionally contributes to the Daily Telegraph, The Times, Financial Times, Spectator, the Times Literary Supplement, and the Wall Street Journal, and has written numerous books, including The Closed Circle: An Interpretation of the Arabs (1999) and Betrayal: France, the Arabs, and the Jews (2006).
