Campaigner for Greenpeace UK
Willie MacKenzie is a campaigner with Greenpeace UK, and has worked there for almost ten years. He specializes in oceans work, including fisheries, sustainable seafood, bluefin tuna, whaling and marine reserves, but has also worked on Energy and Peace campaigns. As well as spending time on Greenpeace ships, and being an enthusiastic blogger, Willie has written a short book called Stop the Whaling (2008) which, in the wake of the 60th meeting of the International Whaling Commission, set out the battle lines between Japan and its supporting countries against the rest of the world. The book outlines the history behind the return to the slaughter of whales, explains the likely impact on the world’s oceans and presents a clear guidance on what the citizen needs to do to make his or her protest known.
