Peter Mandaville is Associate Professor in the Department of Public and International Affairs at Virginia’s George Mason University (GMU). He also acts as Co-Director of GMU’s Center for Global Studies. Mandaville is a contributor to the International Herald Tribune and The New Republic, and is the author of Global Political Islam (2007) and Transnational Muslim Politics: Reimagining the Umma (2001).
