Politican and economics professor
Lord Richard Layard was educated at Eton, King's College, Cambridge, and the London School of Economics. He served on the Robbins Committee on Higher Education in the 1960s. Layard founded LSE's Centre for Economic Performance in 1990, and currently serves there as a progamme director. He was created a life peer in 2000, as Baron Layard of Highgate.
Layard is a proponent of 'Happiness Economics', which posits that income is not necessarily a good measure of happiness.
