International Editor of the Economist
Edward Lucas is the Central and Eastern Europe correspondent for The Economist. He holds a BSc from the London School of Economics, and studied Polish at the Jagiellonian University, Krakow. He has been covering Eastern Europe for more than 20 years and is the former Managing Editor of The Baltic Independent, a weekly English-language newspaper published in Tallinn. In 2008, Lucas published The New Cold War, his first book.
