Senior Research Fellow, American Strategy Program, New America Foundation
Anatol Lieven is a Senior Research Fellow at the New America Foundation's American Strategy Program, where his work focuses on American global strategy and the war on terror. He was previously a senior associate at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, and has covered central and eastern Europe, the Middle East, and India for The Times and the Financial Times. Lieven has also written a number of books on the subject of international politics and political history, including The Baltic Revolution: Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and the Path to Independence (1993) and Ethical Realism: A Vision for America’s Role in the World (2006). He has contributed to The International Herald Tribune, the Los Angeles Times, and Prospect.
