Chairman of Canary Wharf Group until 2011 and former chairman of Chairman of Barclays de Zoete Wedd
Sir Martin Jacomb was Chairman of the developer Canary Wharf Group until 2011. He was educated at Eton College and Worcester College, Oxford, and was called to the bar in 1955, practising as a barrister until 1968. He was Chairman of Prudential plc from 1995 to 2000. Other past directorships include: Chairman of Barclays de Zoete Wedd from 1986 to 1991; Chairman of Postel Investment Management Limited from 1991 to 1995; Deputy Chairman of Barclays Bank plc from 1985 to 1993; and Director of the Bank of England from 1986 to 1995.
Jacomb also served as Chairman of the British council from 1992 to 1998, and was Chancellor of the University of Buckingham from 1999 to March 2010. He has contributed to publications such as Spectator and the Financial Times.
