Professor of Law at the London School of Economics, Emily Jackson is also Deputy Chair of the Human Fertilisation and Embryology Authority, and a member of the BMA Medical Ethics Committee and the Ethics Committees of the Royal College of Physicians and the Royal College of Pathologists.
Her research interests are in the field of medical law and ethics, with particular emphasis on reproductive and end of life issues, and more recently the regulation of the pharmaceutical industry. She is the author of Regulating Reproduction (Hart, 2001) and Medical Law (2nd edition, Oxford UP, 2010). Together with John Keown (who is writing the ‘against’ half), she is currently writing the 'in favour' half of Debating Euthanasia, due to be published by Hart in 2011.
