Professor of Islamic, Middle Eastern and Chinese history at Hebrew University in Jerusalem
Raphael Israeli is an academic historian who specialises in the history of the Middle-East. Having immigrated to Israel from Morocco at the age of 15, Israeli attended the Hebrew University in Jerusalem and the University of California, Berkeley. He is the author of over 15 books and some 80 scholarly articles, with his recent works including: Dangers of a Palestinian State (2003) and The Iraq War: Hidden Agendas and Babylonian Intrigue (2004). A member of the Steering Committee of the Ariel Centre for Policy Research (ACPR), his work in Hebrew, French and English frequently appears in leading international publications including NATIV, a bi-monthly publication of the ACPR. He is fluent in English, Hebrew, Chinese and Arabic.
