Director of the Oxford Institute of Ageing, University of Oxford
Sarah Harper is currently a Professor of Gerontology at the University of Oxford. She was previously a visiting professor at the Universities of Utah and Chicago, and a member of the British society of Gerontology. She is currently also the head of the University of Oxford’s Institute of Ageing (part of the 21st Century School).
Harper’s research into ageing in Asian populations led to her being awarded the University of Malaya Chair in Old Age. She is founder of the International Journal on Population Ageing and is the Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Population Ageing. She has also published a number of books, including Ageing Societies: Myths, Challenges, and Opportunities (2006), and Ageing in Asia (2007, with Roger Goodman).
