British historian and writer
Juliet Gardiner is a former editor of History Today magazine, and a commentator on British social history. She has been Research Fellow at the Institute of Historical Research, an honorary Fellow at Edinburgh University and previously taught at Middlesex and Oxford Brookes Universities.
Gardiner is the author of Wartime: Britain 1939-1945 (2004) and the editor of Who's Who in British History (2000), and The Penguin Dictionary of British History (2000). She was a historical consultant for the film of Atonement, is a frequent broadcaster on radio and television, and a reviewer for, and contributor to, the Sunday Times, Sunday Telegraph, Financial Times, Guardian and BBC History.
