Rausing Director of LSE’s Centre for the Study of Human Rights
Conor Gearty became the first Rausing Director of LSE’s Centre for the Study of Human Rights in 2002, after moving from King’s College London, where he had worked since the early 1990s. He is also a barrister with Matrix Chambers, and is a visiting lecturer for a number of universities. Gearty is the author of a number of books on the subject of civil liberties and human rights, including Civil Liberties (2007) and Can Human Rights Survive? (2006).
