Professor of Philosophy at Birkbeck College, University of London
Anthony Grayling is a professor of Philosophy at Birkbeck College and a Supernumerary Fellow of St Anne's College, Oxford. He has written and edited many books on philosophy and for several years wrote the 'Last Word' column for the Guardian newspaper. He has contributed to many papers and journals such as the Literary Review, the Financial Times, the Economist, and the Observer. He is also a frequent broadcaster on BBC Radio 4.
Grayling was the Honorary Secretary of the principal British Philosophical Association for nearly ten years, and is a Fellow of the World Economic Forum, a Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature and also a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts.
Grayling has written extensively on the subject of philosophy, including the books Among the Dead Cities: Was the Allied Bombing of Civilians in WWII a Necessity or a Crime? (2006), and Against All Gods: Six Polemics on Religion and an Essay on Kindness (2007).
