Author, broadcaster, and comedian
Simon Fanshawe began his broadcasting career as a comedian, winning the Perrier Award in 1989. He has since appeared on a range of television and radio shows, from the television series That’s Life! to the radio shows Kaleidoscope and Just A Minute, and made the documentary The Trouble With Gay Men in 2006. He also contributes to a number of publications, including the Guardian, the Observer, the Evening Standard, and Punch.
Fanshawe was a founding member of Stonewall, a lesbian, gay, and bisexual rights society, and sits on the board of the Brighton Festival Fringe and the Edinburgh Fringe festival. He is also the Chair of the governing council of the University of Sussex in Brighton.
