Fashion designer
Fashion Designer Bella Freud was born in London in 1961. She studied at Accademia di Costume e di Moda, Rome, and the Instituto Mariotti, Rome before becoming design assistant to Vivienne Westwood in the early eighties and launching her own label in 1990. She has produced collections for Jaeger and with the fashion house Biba, and she has collaborated with John Malkovich on three short films.
Freud has contributed the Sunday Times magazine Stella. She is a Trustee of The Hoping Foundation, an organisation that provides grants to grassroots community associations working in Palestinian refugee camps to give Palestinian children the opportunity to play and express themselves through art, photography, film, music, theatre, dance and sport.
