Roger Cohen

Columnist for The New York Times and the International Herald Tribune

Roger Cohen is a regular columnist on the IHT's views and commentary pages. His opinion column, entitled "Globalist", appears in the IHT on Mondays and Thursdays. Mr Cohen is also a New York Times columnist.

In 2006 Mr. Cohen was appointed the IHT's first editor-at-large and began his twice-weekly column on European and International affairs on the newspaper’s Page Two in 2004. He was also The New York Times’s international writer-at-large.

Previously, Mr. Cohen was foreign editor for The New York Times, a post he was officially appointed to in March 2002, having served as acting foreign editor from September 11, 2001.

He is the author of three books, Soldiers and Slaves: American GIs Trapped by the Nazis’ Final Gamble, Hearts Grown Brutal: Sagas of Sarajevo, an account of the wars of Yugoslavia’s destruction and In the Eye of the Storm, a biography of Norman Schwarzkopf.
