Matthew de Abaitua is the editor-at-large of cult magazine The Idler and Film4 online, as well as a freelance writer and novelist. His first novel won the Arthur C Clarke Award in 2008, and his latest book is called The Art of Camping: The History and Practice of Sleeping Under the Stars.
