Event info:
Hosting UEFA Euro 2012 in Ukraine will speed up the modernization of outdated infrastructure, boost tourism and considerably improve the country’s image in the world. However, some international experience shows that the absence of a complex strategy of utilizing these infrastructural objects after the event can considerably harm this country’s economy. This was the statement of Natalya Izosimova, Director of the Foundation for Effective Governance (FEG), during the public debate “Hosting of major sports events is good for a nation’s health”. The event was organized by the FEG in partnership with BBC World News and the Intelligence Squared.
