Faith schools, so beloved of the Blair administration, are now facing widespread condemnation. As their critics point out, these popular schools indoctrinate children, divide them on religious and racial lines, and force taxpayers to finance a service from which many are excluded.
But despite these objections, England’s 6,900 faith schools continue to get top academic results, and, in the process, save our government a lot of money.
